IT’S TIME TO FLIRT WITH A MAN IN A KILT
Cassie Crow, a pop-culture reporter for a TV talk show, is focused on becoming a “serious” journalist. But when she stumbles into a kilted Highlander with a killer accent, Cassie decides that taking one night off from work and spending it with a sexy Scot couldn’t hurt. . .
Logan Reid has built a career on his charm, hosting a series of off-the-wall hijinks on the Web. But when the Scottish prankster meets the all-American, equal parts intelligent and irresistible Cassie, Logan realizes that one night of fun won’t be enough. Could it be that this career-focused, commitment-phobic couple is finally ready to take a chance at true and lasting love?
It is not a common occurrence that I fall in love with a book from the very first page, but such is the case with Getting Hot with the Scot. You can start listening to a sneak peek here and see for yourself why I was low-key obsessed.
Cassie is on the trip of a lifetime with her best gal pals when she stumbles completely unawares into some quality hijinks courtesy of our sexy highlander Logan on the last leg of her vacation. Stuff happens that I’m actively not going to spoil because it was literally laugh out loud funny. Our MCs have lots of sexy times and speed their way from one-night-stand to something much more significant – all the while, each is keeping a secret from the other. The tension of when will the other find out is almost as good as their, ahem, extracurricular activities.
Although Cassie and Logan are *very* spicy meatball, their relationship pales in comparison to the complete badassery that is Cassie’s girl group of traveling companions. I’ve said it many times before, the besties in a rom-com can make or break a book for me. When our heroine inevitably has her heart a little broken in the course of the plot, she has to have a sisterhood to fall back on for all the support and love she deserves. Getting Hot with the Scot delivers BIG TIME with the girl power. I am positively giddy that some of these awesome ladies are getting their own stories in upcoming books in this series.
There is something so effortless about Melonie Johnson’s writing. I felt like I sat down to have a cup of tea with Cassie and her friends, and surfaced a good while later to have read half of their story in a blink. I have no doubt that I will be diving in to the rest of this fun series very, very soon…like tomorrow soon.
XOXO
