I compiled a few sets of books today, but then I remembered…I’m supposed to be running a romance blog here. A lot of these books are ones I’ve mentioned before, but I think they’re good gateway romances and worthy of mentioning again.
If you like a lighter, fluffier fantasy and having a Taylor Swift song stuck in your head whenever you try to remember what you are reading, try:
Wildest Dreams by Kristen Ashley
This was my very first KA after I scoured the internet for things to read like A Court of Thorns and Roses because I needed more fantasy + kissing in my life. I promptly bought the rest of the series after finishing the first installment. Be warned, the even numbered books are not as happy go lucky, but still equally delicious.
If you like rom-coms and dating schemes, or have ever joked about hiring someone to take home to your family for a holiday or function, try:
The Real Deal by Lauren Blakely
Sooooo, hypothetically, that last scenario may or may not be me in prep for every wedding or winter party. It is books as fun as this one that make me strongly consider following through.
If you like a heavier fantasy with crazy world building and are looking for a brand new series while it’s still in the beginning, try:
Phoenix Unbound by Grace Draven
The best thing I can say about this book is that it’s still in the top 5 things I’ve read in the last rolling year. I would do some stuff to get my hands on book 2, but I will be waiting and wishing for a while longer.
If you like friends to lovers, dating schemes, and so much enough angsty tension, try:
Bad at Love by Karina Halle
FEELS. So many of them.
If you like dual timelines, second chances and just real devastation to the point of some ugly tears, try:
Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren
“Yellow” is still my fave CL. I read it in one sitting, which is an honor for a very select few books.
