Last week was all about movies, and now we’ve come to sweet, delicious television. Oh, how I watch way too much of you.

The Handmaid’s Tale
One instance where I feel the show has become better than the book, simply because it is more faceted, more well rounded, more Nick.

Outlander
I love this show, simply because it’s a thing I watch with my momma and my sister – just as I once read the books with them. It is gritty and lovely, and a perfect representation of the books. Long live Murtagh!

The Magicians
I really didn’t care for Magicians the books, so I had no real intention of watching the show until I was home sick one weekend and Netflix was kindly shoving the show in my face. Where the book failed me, the show certainly did not.

Game of Thrones
There is going to be a huge dragon sized whole in my watching repertoire once this finally comes to a close this year. I think this is the single show that I have bullied the most people to watch. Even as I prep this post (early because it’s me), I’m eyeing the clock until it’s time for the next episode.

A Series of Unfortunate Events
I think this is the single best TV adaptation of a book I’ve ever seen. Every bit of the weird essence of the books is here in the show. The elaborate sets and costumes and general over-the-top-ness is all accounted for brilliantly.

I’m the same with the magicians, much prefer the show!

I actually think I’m less likely to watch a TV adaptation than a movie adaptation. I’m not sure why that is! I only got through half of season 1 of Outlander, despite loving the books.

Sounds like I really need to get around to Magicians. I’ve heard a lot of people say the books aren’t even worth it. And maybe when I get Starz again soon, I’ll get caught up on Outlander finally!

I tried reading The Magicians and couldn’t stand it, so I’ve never tried the series. I did watch the first Series of Unfortunate Events though, and it was highly amusing. (I don’t watch much traditional TV, so that’s as far as I got with the series.)

I haven’t watched The Magicians yet, but man do I need to! Yes to each of these, especially A Series of Unfortunate Events. Neil Patrick Harris just MAKES the whole show, he’s amazing.

Ahhh, I love A Handmaid’s Tale. I just started watching it and I can’t get enough. I really need to check out the Magicians. It seems like something I’d really love. I’m a new follower; I love your blog design. 🙂
