This week’s topic is all about the TBR fence. I don’t know about you guys, but nothing makes me cagier about adding something to my TBR than the hype monster. I get it, I can sometimes be obsessively awaiting a new release. But when hoards start fangirling before there is a cover – or even a blurb is available – I get spooked. Today, I’m bringing you ten books where the hype is REAL and I have no idea whether or not I actually want to read them.

The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu
Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas
The Winds of Winter by George R.R. Martin

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Again, But Better by Christine Riccio
The Dating Game by Kiley Roache
Sherwood by Meagan Spooner
XOXO
I’m looking forward to The Winds of Winter. I hope it will be good!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

I’m not really sure about Crescent City either, I like Sarah’s books, but I’m not sure about a more futuristic fantasy, I tend to prefer past based ones! I’m really excited for Ninth House though, I love that Leigh Bardugo is going for a more NA type book, as I’d really love to see more of those.

Great list! Sherwood made my list this week, too, so you’re not alone there. I’m quite excited for Ninth House purely because it’ll be really interesting to see Leigh Bardugo write something outside of the Grishaverse, but I don’t think I’ll be snapping a copy up as soon as it’s released.

100% agree about Sherwood. I want to read it, but I’m worried that it won’t live up to my personal hype, not to mention the hype around the blogosphere.
I’m also on the fence about Sherwood, her last novel was a bit disappointing!
I have a lot of confidence in Margaret Atwood, so I’m going into The Testament with clear and present hope. On the other hand, I think George RR Martin has been turned off by the success of the show. His reveals aren’t really reveals, anymore and it seems to be biting him HARD. I don’t really think Winds of Winter will ever actually happen, poor guy.
I’ll admit, I pre-ordered Marie Lu’s Rebel (Legend 4) within an hour of her title reveal. She hasn’t written anything I didn’t like so far, so I fangirl away, LOL.
I’m sure I’ll get Winds of Winter when it comes out, but at this point, I don’t know if it will be finished by GRRM or a ghostwriter after his death. I don’t mean to be gruesome, but at his age, if he’s taking a decade per book (or more) will he finish?

Hyped books do make me a bit nervous. I want to read Daisy Jones and the Six. It sounds like something I’d really enjoy, so it’s not just that people have been raving. We’ll see though!!!
