This week it’s all about new authors I read last year. As I was compiling my list, I was so excited to see lots and lots of options. Like anyone, sometimes when I find an author I love, I will binge the complete works, so I tend to be perpetually behind on the new, cool people I should be reading. 2018 was all about pushing horizons and I feel like I did pretty darn good with incorporating newbies into my rotation. Here are my ten faves and the first thing of theirs I read.

Becky Albertalli – The Upside of Unrequited

Ilona Andrews – Clean Sweep

Lauren Blakely – Wanderlust

Mo Daviau – Every Anxious Wave

Grace Draven – Phoenix Unbound

Jasmine Guillory – The Wedding Date

Helen Hoang – The Kiss Quotient

Mackenzi Lee – The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue

Josie Silver – One Day in December

Jennifer Wright – It Ended Badly
Can’t wait to pop by and see all of your favorite discoveries from last year.
XOXO
I remember seeing “The Wedding Date” around the blogosphere, but don’t think I’ve really read much about that one. The cover is really cute though; I like how it “pops” with the fun doodles, and bright red color. 🙂

I’m glad that you discovered Becky Albertalli. She’s an amazing writer. I’m always happy to see her on people’s lists. I can see a few on here that I want to get around to soon.
Helen Hoang was new to me last year too. I haven’t read any of the others on your list… yet.

Great list! The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue is so fun, and I think I loved The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy even more so I’d really recommend checking that one out. 😀 I love Becky Albertalli, too – The Upside of Unrequited is one of my favourite YA contemporaries.

I just missed the cutoff for Josie Silver to make it on my list too. lol Maybe next years. 🙂 We shared one! I’m so glad you talked me into getting that one too. So glad to see Ilona made it onto your list. Really hope to be able to read Every Anxious Wave and The Kiss Quotient this year. And the library seriously needs to buy me Phoenix Unbound! Any update on the 2nd book?

Awesome list! The Gentleman’s Guide and Phoenix Unbound keep showing up in all these reviews I read, I really need to get on those. Maybe in 2019, lol.
One Day in December is still on my TBR, I hope to get to it soon!
Becky Albertalli is one of my favorites! I also loved Lee this year. Great choices!

Mackenzi Lee!!! I absolutely adored The Gentleman’s Guide and her style of writing! I really wanted to get to One Day in December in actual December, but unfortunately it didn’t happen! I was like 8th in line for it at the library. *grumble* Becky Albertalli is on my list of authors to read in 2019!
I have only read one of these books on this list and that’s The Upside Of Unrequited. It was my first Albertalli book and I really loved it.
