My Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest feeds are full of bookish stuff. Pretty much all my scrolling gives me major wanderlust, which made it super hard to narrow down to ten this week y’all. But, I did it, and here they are!
Bookstores
Elliott Bay Book Company in Seattle, WA
I’ve been to this bookstore many times, and I think I can safely say, this is my all-time favorite. I love the way the wood creaks as I’m browsing the shelves. I love all the lights that comes in the massive windows, even on a dreary Seattle day. I love that every memory I have in this place my belly is full of delicious food, I have a coffee in hand, and I’m with someone dear to me.
Powell’s City of Books in Portland, OR
I have also been to this one, and may or may not have been asked to leave because I may or may not have touched stuff in the rare book room. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
Bart’s Books in Ojai, CA
I see this place pop up often on the aforementioned interweb feeds, and it looks so charming. Some day, I would like to go for myself to meander the outdoor shop.
The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles, CA
A million years ago, my ultimate cool girl idol (and former babysitter/best friend’s older sister) packed up and moved to LA. And my response still to this day is, OMG she’s so awesome *cheers* She started working here and would send/post pictures to we townies back at home. My inner teenager still wants to go visit her here someday, even though now she’s impossibly cooler.
The Ripped Bodice in Los Angeles, CA
Three reasons why I want to go here: Owned by sisters, exclusively romance books, AND there is a bookstore dog called Fitzwilliam Waffles. I rest my case.
Libraries
New York Public Library in New York, NY
In my family we place this game, “You’ve been lioned.” It’s our very silly way of honoring the matriarch of our clan. Whenever we see a lion in our daily life, we take a selfie and send it in our group chat. I feel like if I got a picture with Patience and Fortitude, I would be the reigning champ for just a little while.
Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
I’ll be honest. I don’t want to go here for any noble or patriotic reasons. I want to go because of the greatest movie of all time: National Treasure.
Trinity College Library in Dublin, Ireland
I mean, do I even have to explain this one. *swoons*
National Library in Vienna, Austria
Fun fact: This library was one of the inspirations for the library that the Beast gives to Bell in Beauty & the Beast – one of the first movies I ever saw. Naturally, I fell in love with the gesture and the library, and it ruined me for the real world.
Hogwarts Library
In my heart, I’ve been here a thousand times, and a thousand more times I shall go.
XOXO
Everyone’s lists are so fun and well put together this week (I spy favorites like Powell’s on many lists). Someday I’d love to visit Powell’s, but since I haven’t done much research on the “famous,” must-visit book stores for bookworms, it’s pretty much the only one I know about. π

So many pretty pictures. I’d love the opportunity to visit some of these.
Fitzwilliam Waffles indeed. Now I want to go there too.
We are so lucky to live in our respective cities and have Elliot Bay and Powell’s at our disposal. I’d be in awe of the various fancy gorgeous historical libraries and bookstores I’ve seen posted today, but I can really settle in and browse and read at places like our local bookstores!
Powell’s Bookstore is amazing. I spent the whole day there once. Maybe if I ever visit my parents for an extended period of time again I’ll have to stop by Elliot Bay Book Company.

So many amazing Libraries! I have been to the New York Public Library as the only famous library. It would be a dream to go the Trinity College Libray in Dublin and quite literally a dream to go to Hogwarts library π
If you ever get the chance to visit out here, I highly recommend The Last Bookstore and The Ripped Bodice. Last Bookstore has a lot of to see, and Ripped Bodice because it’s a haven for romance fans. Great list!
The library at Trinity College is freaking amazing! My architecture-loving husband would even visit that one with me. π
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Beautiful list! I really want to visit Trinity College Library as well. And YES for the Hogwarts Library! Totally agree with that one!
My TTT: Bookstores + Libraries I Want to Visit
I’ve been to Bart’s Books numerous times and it is worth the visit. Ojai is such a charming little town near Venture and Santa Barbara. Bart’s Books even made it on my TTT post this week. I’ve reviewed this bookstore on my blog.
Here’s a link to my TTT post for this week:

These all look so good. And who could resist a store dog named Fitzwilliam Waffles? I sure can’t. Ripped Bodice is on my list!
I just can’t get past Fitzwilliam Waffles. Too perfect.
