Three Things I’m Loving

October 14, 2018 Comments : 6

It’s all about comfort and feel-good things. With the weird cold snap, I spent a lot of time curled up and cozy with my pup this week. I was so exhausted I didn’t even crack a book open – and that includes audios. Ooph.

The Great British Bake Off – When I saw new episodes, I was like, yus gurl yus. And then plot twist, no more Mary Berry and new hosts. WTF?! But, worry not, it was as lovely and wholesome as it ever is, and I got my Berry fix on her new show.

Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society – I confess, I never read the book. Oops. When the movie came out on Netflix, the same day my sister group chatted my mom and I to say this was a must watch. And I did indeed watch it then. Now I regularly just find myself putting it on in the background because it’s really lovely.

Colder Heavens by Blanco White –  I have one word for this song: haunting. The lyrics really get to me, his voice is so amazing, and the melody sticks with me all day in a weird dreamy kind of way. This is one of those songs that I think, if I ever made a soundtrack to something, this would 100% be on it.

What are you loving this week? Let me know so I can check it out!

XOXO

Am I the only person not watching The Great British Bake-Off? I’m going to need to look that up.

It is so inexplicably feel good. There is nothing quite like it.

I was worried the new GBBO would be horrible, but they really stuck to the winning formula (yay!) and I loved it. Noel is actually a gift. He’s so sweet and encouraging and I love it. If we can’t have Mel and Sue, he and Sandi are the next best thing!

I so wish Noel could follow me around and give me that same gentle encouragement throughout my day. He was a surprising treat, and now I hope he’s in every season going forward!

I think I tried to watch the GBBO (or any other baking show) I’d end up completely off the wagon diet-wise, and would just BAKE ALL THE THINGS. For myself, this week I’m loving the cooler fall mornings we’ve been getting. Mid-day is still warm, but the mornings are crisp and lovely.

Love the book and film for ‘Guernsey.’ The adaptation is very different, but still worth a lot and beautiful to look at too!! 🙂
