(Fuck a) Silver Lining by Panic! At the Disco – Who. Da. Thunk. Me and PATD…hahaha, not me. This song popped up on a Pride playlist on Spotify and I was dancing along so hard, then I went to see who was singing. Color me surprised!
Affirmators! – These cards are a daily sense of calm during my work week. While I’m waiting for my morning cuppa green tea to steep and sifting through the stupid amount of emails that came in since I was last working, I take some time for a little mindfulness before the mad rush starts in. I quietly shuffle the cards and let them guide my intention setting for the day. Bonus! There are Work and Love decks, too.
Yaoyao Ma Van – While all of her illustrations are just so special, her personal (non-commissioned) portfolio examines a lot about what it means to live alone, and the highs and lows of solitude. This tugged at hidden frays in my heart that I know damn well are there, but I keep ’em tucked in most of the time. For the good, “Uncharted Territory” and “The Sound of Nature” spoke to me. For the not so good, “…UGH…”, “Wide Awake”, and “A Wave of Sadness” are wholly relatable. And then “The Thinking Spot” cheered me up again after all those feels.
XOXO
I so love Yaoyao Ma Van’s work. So very relatable in both good and bad. 🙂
