I have an itchy spirit. Staying in one place or being cooped up for too long makes me feel like I’m full of static, which is why nearly every weekend I’m jumping in the car with an audio book and my trusty pup Argos. When I simply can’t get away, I live vicariously through my books. These are my top ten picks for traveling in time or place.
Time
Timeline by Michael Crichton
Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
Somewhere in Time by Richard Matheson
The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Landline by Rainbow Rowell
Place
P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares
Under the Tuscan Sun by Francis Mayes
Paris for One by Jojo Moyes
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
XOXO
Aw, good ol’ Landline. And of course Timeline. <3 I think Paris for One is going to be my next Moyes. š

Paris For One is definitely a book that I want to check out. Wonderful list! š
I saw the film adaptation of ‘Love You,’ but never read the books. I did read and love “Anna and the French Kiss” though. Such a fun book. š
Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland.

Oh, I didn’t even think of time traveling books. Of course they make one want to travel, safely, of course. TTT Books that Make Me Want to Travel
I love P.S I Love You, but haven’t yet read any of the others on your list. Here’s mine:

I love how you broke it up between time and place, neat idea! And I really need to read some Rainbow Rowell soon!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!
Nice idea to split things up between time and place!

I haven’t read Landline yet, where does it take you on your travels? I loved Carry On, so every Rainbow Rowell is now on my wishlist, I just haven’t gotten to them yet š
I’ve never tead Sisterhood, but the movies made me wish I had a tight group of friends throughout childhood and that we could share something that would keep us close even when our lives went separate ways. Great picks!
Love it that you included time travel. I STILL need to read The Time Traveler’s Wife, it’s been on my tbr forever.
I would like to read Shadow of Night, as I enjoyed A Discovery of Witches by her, very nice list!!
This is only going off topic a little bit but I’ve always tried to put my thoughts into words about my kind-of restlessness and my inability to sit still, but you put it perfectly. “I have an itchy spirit. Staying in one place or being cooped up for too long makes me feel like Iām full of static(…)” I mean, YES. So. Much. Yes.
Back to the list–you already know it’s fantastic. So many great reads on here. I love that you split it into time and travel. And the fact that you included Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants gives me all kinds of nostalgic warm and fuzzies.
The Time Traveler’s Wife is one of my all time favorites. š
