I’m a notorious DNF’er. Life is too short for crappy books, and I feel like I don’t owe a book anything – not if I got it for review, not if I love everything else by that author, not if it’s got all the hype in the world, not if Oprah herself told me to read it. Just kidding, I would totally read it if Oprah told me to. If a book doesn’t work for me, I don’t labor over it, and I never hate read anything to the bitter end. I move along to the next thing, after all my next favorite book could be waiting for me to just start reading.
BIG OL’ ASTERISK: I frequently go through reading slumps, so I tend to evaluate whether I was in a funky mood when I DNF’ed a book (or if it was legitimately shit). If I was struggling to read anything, those typically go back onto my TBR with a DNF stamp. All of the books I’m sharing today fall under this category.
