Here’s the thing, I would gladly live in any fictional world, even the sketchy ones. I am an adventurer at heart. If I can bring my pup along with me, sign me up pronto and we’ll figure out a way to make it work. However, if living in any of these bookish worlds means I would have to be a teenager again, you can count me so super out. I wouldn’t redo those years, not even fictionally, not for a million bucks (or a million books). Here are the few that definitely wouldn’t be my first pick for a one-way ticket out of reality – courtesy of my YA shelf.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
The Hundred by Kass Morgan
Divergent by Veronica ROth
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Rissi @ Finding Wonderland
“The Hunger Games” is on my list this week too! *shudder* Way too much creepy control going on there.

Haha, great list! I’ve read most of these and have to agree with you on all of them, except maaaaybe Twilight… I mean, the bad vampires would be scary, but I would totally love to hang out with the werewolf kids! <3
Dani
Destiny @ Howling LibrariesThe werewolves are totally the best part!
Shayna
Had a few similarities to you this week! I didn’t think of The 100, but I completely agree! Here’s mine if you want to check it out to see how we compare: https://clockworkbibliotheca.blogspot.com/2018/05/ten-bookish-worldssettings-id-never.html

I can totally understand why you wouldn’t want to live in any of these worlds. They are pretty horrendous.
Books In Bloom
I put Hunger Games on my list too…but as a place I wouldn’t want to live! It’s crazy scary to think I’d have to win or die!

Great list! And totally agree with most of them expect maybe Twilight. I mean if you keep away from Forks and Italy you have a pretty big chance to avoid the scary and the dramatic.

I hear you on not wanting to be a teen again. Especially not in worlds like The Hunger Games or Divergent!

I totally forgot about Twilight and ughhhhh no I would never want to exist in that universe either. Really fun list!

Awesome list! I totally agree with you on every one of these. I would not want to live there, especially not as a teenager.
Aj @ Read All The Things!
I HATED being a teenager. I would never do that again. Even driving past my old high school makes me anxious.

Chloe @ It's YA Girl
So many worlds where like…I wouldn’t want to be in the SHIT in that world, but if I was just living my life happily in the background would be fun? You know what I mean? Like for the Lunar Chronicles or TOG, as long as I wasn’t involved in the wars/diseases I’d be such a happy little camper! 😂
Dani
Chloe @ It’s YA GirlOmg, being the “chosen one” in any universe – no friggin way. But just chilling and there are fae about, yeah, I could be down with that 🙂
Taylor Fenner
I definitely wouldn’t survive in the world of The Hunger Games, The 100, or Divergent. Great list!
Adri @ Little Fox & Reads
Wow I didn’t even think about The 100. I haven’t read the books but I avidly watch the show and yeah… that’s definitely a HELL NO for me!
Sarah @ All The Book Blog Names Are Taken
I am not familiar with any of these worlds by way of having read any of the books, but I know some sparse details of a few of them and I would definitely agree on the ‘no thanks’ to living in them as well.
Ericka @ A Quiet Girl's Musings...
I considered Twilight for my list, but I was on the fence about it so I left it off. It might be fun to have some connections with vegetarian vampires and warm, hard bodied shape shifters. LOL!
